Over 2,000 people, including IT professionals, developers, entrepreneurs, and managers, both in-person and online, attended the Italian stop of the Microsoft AI Tour yesterday!

We had the pleasure of attending a highly interesting keynote where key figures from the Redmond giant such as Vincenzo Esposito, Asha Sharma, and Matteo Mille took turns on stage.

Over 30 sessions in less than 8 hours and with 80 speakers alternating on 4 stages, there was plenty to see and think about.

The direction that #Microsoft has decided to take is very clear, and the words are mainly 2:

·       Copilot

·       Agent

The adoption of Generative and Agent AI tools is an “almost” mandatory step to create cutting-edge and personalized solutions and to have a decisive boost in productivity.

Delving a bit more into all the tools and functionalities, the topic of Azure AI Foundry, an integrated platform that simplifies the creation of agents and AI applications, with over 1800 ready-to-use models, was also discussed.

They didn’t just talk about “Software” but also the new Majorana 1, the world’s first quantum processor based on topological qubits.

What is Majorana 1?

Majorana 1 is Microsoft’s new chip for quantum computers. It uses special materials to create qubits, which are like the “building blocks” of quantum computing.

What can it do?

Solve difficult problems: it can solve very complex problems, like finding new drugs or improving energy efficiency.

More power: it can handle many qubits, making quantum computers more powerful.

Greater reliability: the qubits are more stable and less prone to errors.

Majorana 1 can enhance AI applications, allowing the development of more advanced models capable of learning and adapting more effectively

All of this was told by a brilliant Andrea Benedetti, who was our guest a few days ago during a live session on AI Skills – if you missed it click here.

And finally… a beautiful and authentic exhibition with the history of the most important personal computers that have changed the history of computing!

From the very first Commodore, through Atari, Olivetti, Apple, and Windows.
